My Surgery in Istanbul
I went to Istanbul to do eye laser surgery a few weeks ago and I was fully satisfied with the whole experience! I found Swisslasik online and immediately got in touch with Serdar over Whatsapp. He responded right away and offered me all the information I was looking for and more.
Even though I’m a difficult person to plan a trip for, he was able to organize everything within very tight deadlines. I could choose the hospital and of course went for the best option: Dr. Banu Cosar in the Acibadem hospital in Maslak. She was very professional, calm, and patient. I also had the chance to ask her all my questions pre and post OP, and she was even able to move my surgery time earlier since she knew I was coming from abroad and had arrived already in the morning.
The surgery itself went very smoothly and I experienced no pain during the procedure. It also went by so quickly that I was so surprised when she told me we were done. The pain afterwards was quite intense (as is common with eye laser surgery) so it was rather hectic to buy the eye drops in that condition. I was provided with a translator who came with me to buy the medicine and was leading me by the hand since I couldn’t really open my eyes for longer than a second at a time.
As a recommendation to anyone doing the same surgery, buy the eye drops before your surgery so that you can leave immediately after the procedure. There was a hospital transport organized to bring me back to my hotel after the surgery, but since it only goes around every 30 minutes, I ended up having to wait which was not comfortable with all the pain I was in. This would lead me to my second recommendation: order a taxi at the reception since you can get one right away and the prices are very cheap for a ride.
After 4 hours my pain stopped, and I could already look around and admire the world clearly with my naked eye, which was incredible! The next morning I had a post-OP examination which went very quick and I was able to spend the rest of the day sight-seeing and eating some delicious Turkish food.
My biggest thanks go to Serdar who was professional from start to finish. He found the best flights, hotel, hospital, and doctor for me, and even kept himself available to me after business hours since Turkey has a 2-hour time difference. His company is doing a great job with providing attractive package deals, including up to 4 post-checkups in my home country.
I was very appreciative that I didn’t have to organize all the details and logistics since Serdar meaning SwissLasik handled everything for me. I would book with them again in the future without a doubt as Serdar is a local in Turkey and can therefore provide the best deals and knows all the right people.
