The course of surgery

Mammoplasty enlargement is performed under general anaesthesia and therefore, it requires staying at hospital for a night in terms of safety.

In order to place the implant, inframamary incisions corresponding to a section of 4 or 5 cm under the breast are usually preferred.

This incision type provides a fine overall look for the surgeon during the operation but it has a visible scar on certain positions. Similarly, it is also possible to have an incision along areola (a semilunar cut right beneath the nipple) and this scar becomes completely invisible at the end of the healing period.

Whether the implant will be placed above or beneath the pectoral muscle depends on the body shape and the main structure of the breast.

Usually, the implant is placed beneath the pectoral muscle or above the pectoral muscle that is lower than the breast gland in women with very weak and few fat tissue or glands; in the meantime, the breast tissue is not touched during the operations as much as possible.

In order not to lose sensitivity, a great attention is paid to avoid damaging sensitive nerves and veins of the nipple in all mammoplasty operations.

Once the operation is done, the wound is stitched and drainages are placed in order to avoid blood and tissue fluid output in case needed. A tight bandage is applied for supportpurposes in the post-surgical period.

Post-surgical period

On the first days after the surgery, you will have difficulty in moving the upper body and arms and thus swelling and bruising might occur. Stitches do not need to be removed as they drop on their own.

In time, stitch marks disappear and become almost invisible. During the first three months, you must wear a special bra with breast supporting feature and a chest strap. This combination enables that implants become stabilized and thus heal faster.

Complete recovery period is about three months.

What is a saggy look?

Normal size breasts, Nipples without a significant ptosis

The course of surgery
